Description
Camp under ponderosa pines in the heart of the Black Hills. There's much to see, including Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Mountain, Deadwood, Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, and Custer State Park . Fantastic tours are available from local tour companies and they pick you up right from your site. In the area, see buffalo, mountain goats, elk, prairie dogs and burros. Bike Michelson Trail and climb Harney Peak for a sweeping view of the Black Hills. Enjoy the many water parks and lakes in the area. Downtown Custer has fabulous restaurants and live entertainment most summer evenings. After a full day of sightseeing, unwind at the tranquil campground, just 3 miles west of Custer. Take a dip in the heated pool or watch the kids bounce on the Jumping Pillow. Seasonal perks include kids' crafts and ice cream socials (Saturdays), daily cooked-to-order breakfasts and a pool (Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting). All kabins, RV sites and tent sites have picnic tables and fire pits. Most sites have WIFI accessibility. Internet access is also available in the store. Rates are higher during the Fourth of July week (July 1-5) and Sturgis Motorcycle Rally/Custer Cruisin' week (July 31-August 9).
