Description
Located 7 miles south of Hill City, South Dakota, in a park-like ponderosa pine forest. Trees are very large and the area is very shady. Elevation is 5,300 feet. Roads are paved. Popular activities include hiking and mountain biking. Nearby attractions include Mt. Rushmore and the Black Elk Wilderness.

Non-reservable sites may be available on a first come-first served basis. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. There are no electric sites in this campground. There is no longer a payphone at this facility. The host has a cellular bag phone for emergencies. There are no electric sites in this campground. There will be a pet charge of $2 per pet per night, payable upon check in. There is a 3 day minimum stay for holidays Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.
