Description

Located on the Bozeman Ranger District of the Gallatin National Forest 26 miles south of Bozeman, Montana. The campground, at 5,600 feet elevation, is adjacent to Storm Castle Creek, a tributary of the Gallatin River. Most campsites are along the creek surrounded by spruce and fir trees. Roads and campsite spurs are gravel. Three group campsites are in the Campground. Depending on weather conditions the campground may be open in early May and late September. No advance reservations are available outside the dates listed above.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. Two non-towed vehicles may be parked per site; the first vehicle is included in the basic fee, the second vehicle is charged the extra fee. A fee of $8.00 for the extra vehicle will be collected at the campground. Please bring your own drinking water. The administering organization reserves the right to substitute sites without prior notice. This campground has first-come, first-served sites. Reservations are taken from May 26 through September 11; sites may be available on a first come-first served basis outside and during the reservation season. Please call 406-587-9054 for more details concerning the availability for this campground outside the reservation season. Group sites #1, 2 and 12 are available for Day Use also; each group is treated as if they would be an overnight group regardless of how early they plan to leave. Check-in time is 11 a.m. and check out time is 10 a.m. for Group site #1, 2 and 12 only . A fee for exceeding the number of people listed in the reservations for any site will be collected at the campground. Bears frequent the area; please store all food appropriately.

Located 26 miles south of Bozeman, Montana. From Bozeman take U.S. Highway 191 south for 23 miles to the Storm Castle turnoff. Turn left and go 3 miles to the campground. The last 3 miles are gravel road. From West Yellowstone, go 66 miles north on US Hwy 191, turn right on Storm Castle Road, turn right at T after the bridge and go 3 miles to the campground.
