Camping Reservations

Description

Located 17 miles south of Red Lodge, Montana , near the Beartooth Scenic Byway, Glacier Lake, and the Hell Roaring and Lake Fork Trailheads. The campground is adjacent to Rock Creek and 6 miles from Greenough Lake. There is access to the Beartooth Wilderness from the Hell Roaring and Lake Fork Trailheads.
A campground host is on site. All sites have a fire grate and picnic table, and potable water is available from a hand pump. There are accessible vault toilets.
Popular activities include fishing the main fork of Rock Creek and Greenough Lake, mountain biking, hiking Parkside National Recreation Trail, and four-wheeling up Hell Roaring Road. Summer events include Home of Champions Rodeo on the 4th of July weekend, Mountain Man Rendezvous in late July, and Festival of Nations in early August.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. Several sites are designated first-come, first-serve for use throughout the season. The camp generally opens mid-May and closes the third or fourth week of September for full service; camping may be available outside the full service season. The administering organization reserves the right to substitute sites without prior notice. Two non-towed vehicles may be parked per site; the first vehicle is included in the basic fee, the second is charged an extra $8 collected at the campground. Trailers are prohibited past site 3 because there is no turn around.
CAUTION: Bears frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers, locked vehicle, or food storage boxes provided at the campground.

Located 60 miles northeast of Cooke City, Montana, and the northeast gate to Yellowstone National Park, and 7 miles south of Red Lodge, Montana. On Highway 212, turn off at Rattin Campground Road (formerly Eastside Road) 379. Go 0.5 miles to the campground entrance on the left.
