Camping Reservations

Description

The campground is currently closed due to High Water until 05/14/09. The Bloomington Recreation Area is a large day-use area consisting of 4 picnic shelters, a nearby swimming beach, and 3 boat launch ramps within a short drive. Each picnic shelter has a sand volleyball court and horseshoe pit. A large handicapped accessible playground is located between shelters #4 and #6, but is available for all who use the area. A large handicapped accessible shower facility is nearby for beach/group shelter users. A handicapped accessible comfort station is also available in the area. The Clinton Lake Museum (within the day use area) has many nice displays and information on the history of the Clinton Lake/Lawrence, KS area.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. Picnic shelters are $35/day and open 9am-10pm. Shelters are not available for reservations from 15 Oct -1 April. Customers with large groups (100+ people/shelter) need to contact the Clinton Lake Project Office at 785-843-7665. All pets must remain on a 6-foot leash. Vehicles must not park on the grass. Area is closed from 10pm-8am. Bloomington Beach has a "No Alcohol" Policy.

From Lawrence, KS take 6th St. west (Hwy 40) for 4 miles. Take a left onto Douglas CR 442 go 5 miles to Stull, KS. Make a left turn onto Douglas CR 1023. Go 6 miles to Douglas CR 6, make a left turn, go 4 miles through the town of Clinton. Park is located next to Clinton. Follow signs to the entrance.
