Description

This Campground is on Island park Reservoir and most sites have some shade. Nearby there is a power boat ramp and a small grocery store. On site there are 2 campground hosts. In the group area of the campground there are shore trout fishing, volleyball area, and horseshoe pits. Each single site is allowed 1 RV, and each double site is allowed 2 RV's A fee of $6 per extra vehicle will be collected at the campground. No All Terrain Vehicles or Off-Road Vehicles allowed in the park.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. A fee of $6 per extra vehicle will be collected at the campground. No All-Terrain Vehicles or Off-Road Vehicles allowed Walk-in sites maybe available, even if reservable sites are full. The group site fees are as follows $60.00 per night Sunday through Thursday and $120.00 per night Friday and Saturday.

From West Yellowstone Mountain travel south on Hwy. 20 for approximately 25 miles. Turn right on to the Kilgore-Yale Road (across from the Elk Creek Gas Station), and go 2 miles to the other Buttermilk Loop Road. Turn left, and go 2 miles and you will see the sign for Buttermilk Campground on the right.
