Description

The North Folk of the Boise River flows behind the cabin. Many swimming and fishing holes can be found within a short distance from the Flat. The Hungarian/Sunset Trail is located across the road about 200 yards north of the cabin. The Beaver Creek/Grand Mountain Trail is just across the river or down the road one mile to the trailhead. The Short Creek Trail is located at the confluence of Rabbit Creek and the North Fork Boise River; you can see osprey nests along this trail. Barber Flat also has osprey nests and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. The Barber Flat cabin has plumbing, but no electricity. The kitchen is equipped with a propane stove, refrigerator, sink with hot water, table and chairs. The bathroom has a sink, bathtub, and flush toilet. There is one bunk bed in the bedroom and two bunk beds in the living room (six beds total). Please bring your own bedding. A wood stove is provided for heating and firewood may be gathered in the surrounding forest. A campfire ring is located outside the cabin. The cabin is located along the North Fork of the Boise River, approximately 24.5 miles east of Idaho City. From Idaho City take highway 21 for 2.5 miles to Granite Creek Road #327 to Barber Flat cabin. The roads are graded, but may be in somewhat rough condition, and can be traveled in good weather with two wheel drive passenger cars or trucks. Please drive carefully as this road is heavily traveled. Cabin is open from Memorial Day Weekend in May to September 30th.

No groups larger than 6 people are allowed at the cabin or within the cabin yard area. No tents, motor homes or trailers are allowed at this site.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. Occupancy is limited to 6 people. Parking is limited. No refunds for bad weather. Livestock such as, saddle, pack, or draft animals are not allowed at this site Tents, RV's, and motor homes are not allowed at this site. GUESTS MUST CALL THE IDAHO CITY RANGER DISTRICT AT (208) 392-6681 24-48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF YOUR ARRIVAL DATE IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE DOOR ENTRY COMBINATION. OFFICE HOURS ARE MONDAY - FRIDAY, 8:00 - 4:30. COMBINATIONS WILL NOT BE GIVEN IN ADVANCE
