Description
Sweetwater Campground is located on Allatoona Lake in Georgia. Located only 30 miles from Atlanta, the lake offers a respite from the rush of city living. More than 13 million visitors each year enjoy picnicking, camping, hunting, fishing, swimming and other water sports, and observing the abundant wildlife along the shores of this beautiful lake. The Sweetwater Campground offers 151 sites, 107 with electric and water hookups, and 2 with sewer hookups. Additional amenities include a dump station, laundry facilities, hot showers, a boat ramp, a swimming beach, playgrounds, and a group camp area.

Alerts and Important Information
Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance.
- 2 night minimum on weekends.
- 3 night minimum on holidays.
The campground is open April to Labor Day and sites range from $16- $220/night.
Attendants are on duty.
The gate is locked at 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The campground will open at 7 a.m. on March 27, 2009 and will close at 3 p.m. on September 8, 2009.
No ATV's or ORV's allowed.
This campground has first come, first serve sites. Campgrounds DO NOT make advance reservations for these sites. You may go to the campground or contact the Allatoona Lake Project Management Office at (678) 721-6700 to check the availability on first come, first served sites.

From I-75, take exit 290, go E on GA Hwy 20, approx. 12 mi to Field's Chapel Road. Turn right on Fields Chapel Road and follow 2 mi into the campground.
