Description

Located approximately fifteen miles south of Buena Vista, Colorado. Campground is situated along the Chalk Creek. There are 19 sites in a partially wooded area near the Chalk Cliffs. Restrooms are provided. There are no electric hook-ups or showers.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends. Afternoon thunderstorms are common. Prepare for adverse weather conditions. Extra vehicle fee is $5 per vehicle. No discharge of fireworks or firearms. Afternoon thundershowers are common. From Buena Vista, Colorado, take Highway 285 south to Nathrop, Colorado. Turn west on County Road 162, travel 8 miles to the Chalk Lake Campground.
