Brannan Island State Recreation Area is located in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This area northeast of San Francisco Bay, has countless islands and marshes with many wildlife habitats and many opportunities for recreation, including boating, windsurfing and swimming. One of the outstanding water-oriented recreation areas in the world, the area offers great fishing, includes striped bass, sturgeon, catfish, bluegill, perch and bullhead. Little Frank's Tract, a protected wetland marsh, is home to beaver, muskrat, river otter, mink and 76 species of birds.

Alerts and Important Information
Regarding the Brannan Island Ramp Widening Project, construction is expected to run from
August 1 through October 31, 2009. During this time period, there might be delays in launching; two of the three launch ramps will be closed. The goal is to go from three ramps to five.
Ramada reservations are day use only, no overnight stays are allowed.
Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.
Reservations for Brannan Island family sites you are now able to choose the specific site you desire.
- Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.
- Boat Berths are NOT reservable.
- Group sites, Cabin, Ramadas Reservations year round.
- To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants!

- Cottonwood Campground/Willow Campground campgrounds ROTATE seasonal closures. Annually, one of these campgrounds will close at noon on Labor Day and will remain closed until the second Friday in May and will remain closed when not on reservation.
