Description

There are sites adjacent to the lake, but lake levels drop as summer progresses. A short one-mile hike on the trail will take you to Hirz Bay Campground. Trail is designated for hikers only. Please respect wildlife. Where available, store food in food storage lockers, or be prepared to hang food from trees away from the bears.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. Respect wildlife. Poison oak is abundant throughout the forest. Bring gear to hang food from trees, out of reach of bears; or keep in lockers provided.

Exit I-5 at Gilman Road/Salt Creek Road. Southbound traffic: exit and turn left onto Salt Creek Road, second left is Gilman Road. Northbound traffic: turn right onto Gilman Road. Follow Gilman for 10 miles east to Dekkas Rock Group.
