Description
Walk-in season dates are weather permitting only. Please call 928-537-8888 for more information. Located in North Central Arizona near the town of Heber. Campground is in a heavily wooded pine and aspen area, at an elevation of 7000 feet. Restrooms are available. Showers are available at Canyon Point Campground (10 miles). Popular activities include trout fishing (both lake and stream), hiking, boating on Woods Canyon Lake, and photography. A campground host is on site, and interpretive programs are provided by the Forest Service on weekends. Firewood is available.

From Payson, take Highway 260 northeast towards Heber. MAKE A LEFT AT THE SIGN THAT SAYS WOODS CANYON LAKE. Take Forest Road 300. FOLLOW THIS ROAD FOR ABOUT 3 1/2 MILES, MAKE A RIGHT ON THE PAVED ROAD AND FOLLOW THE SIGN TOWARDS WOODS CANYON LAKE (THERE IS NOTHING THAT SAYS THERE IS A ROAD CALLED WOODS CANYONE LAKE ROAD). ASPEN CAMPGROUND IS ABOUT 1 MILE DOWN ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE.
