Camping Reservations

Description

15'x17' cabin that sleeps 6 people. A large deck extends across front of cabin. Access by floatplane or boat. Mooring buoy available on first-come, first-serve basis.

Chalet-style cabin is equipped with sleeping loft, wooden bunks, table, benches, wood stove for heat, and an outhouse. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. Occasional strong winds from the southeast or from Redoubt Lake area. SETTING: Spruce and hemlock forest, sand pebble beach, snowcapped peaks to southeast, peaceful cove with good views. Deer, brown bear, and seabirds. 20 minute boat ride south to Goddard Hot Springs; public hot tubs first-come/first-serve.

ACTIVITIES: Hunting, fishing.

There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. The person holding the reservation must be 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30.

Kanga Bay Cabin (AK)

Tongass/Sitka AK

Accessible year round, weather permitting. Located 12 air miles south of Sitka on Baranof Island within Kanga Bay. From Sitka, floatplane access is 10 minutes, boat access is 40 minutes. For geographic features surrounding the cabin, refer to USGS topographic maps Port Alexander D-5 and D-4.
