JOSEPHINE LAKE CABIN

Camping Reservations

Description

Cabin is a 12' X 12' precut cedar log cabin equipped with wooden bunks (sleeping space for 4-6 people), table, benches, oil stove for heat (you must provide your own #1 diesel fuel or kerosene), and an outside toilet. Please remember to take your fuel container with you when you leave. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own stove fuel, sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, matches, cooking gear, food, lantern, toilet paper, and garbage bags. A boat with oars is usually provided, however snow damage has occurred and has made the boat unusable. The boat is scheduled for replacement. Please contact the Craig Ranger District for up-to-date information (907-826-3271).

Wildflowers bloom in July. This area is famous for its quartz and epidote crystals. There are several private mining claims in the area. Some are active, and others have been idle for some time. Please respect the property rights of private landowners. DO NOT PROSPECT, DIG, OR COLLECT MINERAL SPECIMENS ON THE PRIVATE LAND NEAR JOSEPHINE LAKE.
