Camping Reservations

Description

This cabin is located on the north end of Jim's Lake, a small, isolated lake in the south-central portion of Admiralty Island. The cabin is in a primitive setting, with no electricity, plumbing, or phone. The cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table and benches, is heated with a wood stove, and has an outside toilet. Fire wood is provided in a woodshed near the cabin. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear, and food. A skiff with oars is provided. Cabin users should bring personal flotation devices and may also choose to bring a small outboard motor (less than 10 horsepower due to wilderness regulations). The person holding the reservation must be at least 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is not allowed. Visitors are asked to carry out all that they bring in. There are no discounts for Golden Age or Golden Access Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. Access by floatplane only. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by a helicopter is illegal. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1-September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1- April 30.

Located in the south central part of Admiralty Island, at the north end of Jim's Lake. Access is by floatplane only. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal. One-way flight time from Juneau is approximately 50 minutes.
