Description
A-frame cabin is equipped with sleeping loft, wooden bunks, table, benches, woodstove for heat, and an outside toilet. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. The cabin is located several hundred feet inside the forest edge with no view of the lake. A skiff with oars is provided for cabin users only; bring personal flotation devices. A 2-10 HP longshaft outboard motor (not provided) enhances use of the skiff. SETTING: Located off north shore of lake. Spruce and hemlock forested mountains rise up to snowfield over 2000 foot elevation; wilderness solitude and beauty. Deer and brown bear. ACTIVITIES: Berrypicking, coho and Dolly Varden fishing mid-July to Sept. Some rainbow trout also in lake. Photo opportunities abound. Hunting. PROXIMITY: From south end of lake, about 1 mile poor, unmaintained trail to Plotnikof Lake Cabin. There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. The person holding the reservation must be 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. Access by floatplane only. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal.
