Camping Reservations
This is the Crescent Saddle Cabin located on the south central shore of Crescent Lake, NOT the Crescent Lake Cabin on the west side of the lake.

Summer access may be difficult from the west end. The creek crossing on the north end of Crescent Lake is not bridged and may be difficult to cross during high water. The entire primitive trail is not recommended for small children.

Winter travelers need to be able to evaluate avalanche and over-ice travel conditions.

Closed to motorized vehicles May 1 to November 30. Closed to horse/pack stock from 4/1 to 6/30. For information on access and regulations pertaining to this cabin, trail conditions, safety precautions and Leave No Trace Outdoor Skills and Ethics, please contact the Seward Ranger District at 907-224-3374. Maximum stay per reservation limited to 3 nights from 5/15 to 8/31. No commercial use. The person holding the reservation must be 18. Maximum group size allowed is 8. Treat or boil water before consumption. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, a wood stove for heat, and an outhouse. It sleeps 4 comfortably. It does not have potable water, electricity, mattresses, or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags & pads, cook stove, cooking gear, and food. Access by trail (10.7 miles from Crescent Lake Trailhead, 6.94 miles from Carter Lake Trailhead, Milepost 34 Seward Highway) or floatplane (15 minutes from Moose Pass, 20 minutes from Cooper Landing).
In winter, ice crossing may be necessary.
