Florida state parks are open from 8 a.m. until sundown 365 days a year.

Driving Directions
Anclote Key State Preserve is located three miles off Tarpon Springs and is accessible only by private boat.

 

Park Activities

Camping
Anclote Key Preserve State Park offers primitive camping on the northern portion of the island. There is one covered pavilion, two grills and a composting toilet for visitor use. The campground boundaries are clearly indicated. There is no fresh water on the island so please carry plenty with you. This island can only be reached by private boat. There is no ferry service to or from the island. Please carry out what trash you carry in. Camping is free but before you go you must call 727-469-5942 and check in. Please have your boat registration number, number of campers, arrival and departure dates and a contact phone number in the event of an emergency. If you are planning to fish, a valid State of Florida Fishing License will be needed. Enjoy your stay.

Picnicking
Two picnic pavilions are located at the middle of the island along the Gulf of Mexico side as well as one pavilionat the north end, in the designated primitive campground. Each picnic area is complete with composting toilet facilities, picnic tables and grills. No reservations are necessary as they are a first come first served basis. Please note that there are no electic hook-up nor running water available on the island. Please carry out what you carried in at this preserve.

Swimming
Swimming is allowed off the beaches of Anclote, but there are no lifeguards on duty.
