The trail runs 207 miles from the northern most extent of rural north Florida to the Gulf of Mexico and encompasses activities such as canoeing, camping, boating, hiking, biking, birding and horseback riding. The Trail was designed to provide nature-based recreationists a managed wilderness experience while educating them on protecting the natural, cultural and heritage resources in the Suwannee River Basin.

  Hours of Operation
Staff at the Nature and Heritage Tourism Center are available to provide information about the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail 8:00 am to 5:00 pm seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Driving Directions
The Suwannee River Wilderness Trail is accessible from “hubs”, boat ramps, and public parks along its entire 207 mile length. The Trail is also accessible from many trailheads for hiking, biking, birding and horseback riding.

The Suwannee River Wilderness Trail begins at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park located in White Springs, Florida.

From I-75, exit on State Road 136 (exit 439). Travel east on SR 136 for 3 miles. Turn left on US 41. The park entrance is on the left.

From I-10, exit on US 41 North (exit 301). Travel approximately 9 miles to White Springs. The park entrance is on the left.
