Suwannee River Hideaway Campground is a beautiful nature based campground. We are located on the historic Suwannee River in Old Town, Florida just 12 miles north of Chiefland. We are hidden off of the highway so you do not see or hear the passing traffic and all you will hear at night are the owls. We welcome you to bring your family and enjoy! 

 

We are centrally located to all local springs.  Spend your nights in a quiet and peaceful park and your days exploring the local springs and the gulf.

We are located on the Suwannee River and have a

Our campground is in a great area for fishing, bird watching, hiking, biking, and boating. The Nature Coast State Trail Head is within three miles of the park, then an easy 3 mile ride or walk to the Old Railway Trestle over the Suwannee River. Over 30 miles of paved trail through pristine nature awaits you.
We offer primitive tent camping sites as well as RV sites with 30 & 50 amp hookups. Many easy pull through sites are available.
Free wireless hot spot located at office, clubhouse, & pool!

Check in at the 1920's General Store and then enjoy the conveniences of our campground, including a laundry facility and bath house.
We have a clubhouse for club functions and large groups with a full kitchen, bathrooms, and fireplace.
Farm raised beef, charcoal, and ice sold in the store.
The central Florida Gulf Coast is appropriately known as the "Nature Coast" and is home to an abundance of wildlife.
There are numerous freshwater springs along the river and the Gulf Coast is just a short 20 minute drive.
You can enjoy fresh or saltwater fishing in the area, also known for hunting, boating, hiking, biking, bird watching and SCUBA diving.
We are centrally located to many festivals and events throughout the year.
A public boat ramp is just 1 mile down the road.

We rent fire pots to campers. We will deliver it to your campsite and pick it up when you leave.
Due to bug infestation we cannot allow any outside wood to be brought into the park. Firewood is available for a minimal fee.

We have many 30 AMP and 50 AMP hook-ups available.
We are an AAA and Good Sam Club approved campground.

​PET "RULES OF CONDUCT” AS SHOWN ON THE BACK PAGE OF OUR SITE MAP NEED TO BE FOLLOWED TO THE UTMOST SO THAT EVERYONE CAN ENJOY BEING IN THE CAMPGROUND AND NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEIR PETS OR PERSON.

PET RELATED REQUIREMENTS AND PET RULES OF CONDUCT
Please clean up after your pet, even in the nature areas.

All pets must be confined, leashed or otherwise under the physical control of a person at all times. Leashes may not exceed six feet in length. Please no retractable leashes.

Pets must be well behaved at all times. Pets must be confined in the owner’s camping unit during designated quiet hours.

Please do not put dog waste bags in the bathroom or laundry room trashcans.

Do not tie your pet outside if you are not outside with your pet. Pets must be attended at all times.

Pets which are noisy, vicious, dangerous or disturbing to other persons or pets, which damage park resources, are considered to be nuisances will not be permitted to remain in the park.

NOTE:
Failure to abide by any of these rules and requirements may result in the camper being asked to board the pet or check-out of the campground.
Spring and Summer office hours are 10am-6pm Monday - Saturday and 10am-12pm Sunday (March - August)

Bonita Lakes has a beautiful community room for the use of all guests. Nightly card games are played including Bingo twice a week. Some of the favorites are Pokeno and Euchre. A weekly movie is a quiet getaway. Bean Bag Bean bag is a fun pastime here at Bonita Lake. There's always a friendly competition somewhere in the park.
